We are currently looking to hire a Human Resources Manager who will direct the functions of our Human Resources (HR) department.


As a Human Resources Manager at LexCheck, you will be responsible for supporting our New York City, Toronto and other offices, and work collaboratively with senior management and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment of our HR strategy with our business objectives. You will act as a lead resource, providing advice and guidance on HR related matters such as employee relations, regulatory matters, and employee development, while accomplishing these and other critical functions.


This is the first role of its kind at LexCheck and successful candidates will be given considerable opportunities for upward mobility. The perfect candidate for this role is someone who is energized by the idea of building something new and who is looking to accelerate their career. This position will report to the CEO.


Responsibilities

  • Handle highly confidential information in a professional and sensitive manner
  • Manage daily HR operations, such as: hiring, employment and recruiting, training and development, wage/benefit compensation, team member and labor relations, contract compliance, disciplinary procedures, statutory compliance, recognition and reward and performance evaluations
  • Build relationships with leaders and employees to be positioned as a trusted, knowledgeable, and plugged-in HR business partner who can put employees first and develop long-term plans that support business objectives
  • Partner closely with key executives to create, implement, drive and monitor an HR agenda and strategy for the organization
  • Work with leaders and employees to identify, establish, and maintain a positive work environment and authentic culture which encourages diversity, inclusion, and belonging
  • Act as a catalyst for change: help set direction, manage strong change management and create execution plans for organization changes

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years in human resource management
  • Knowledge of contemporary HR practices, including (but not limited to): compensation, talent acquisition, talent management and development
  • Comfort with ambiguity: leans on strong judgment and high IQ/EQ to make well-informed decisions
  • Strong communicator with the ability to craft meaningful, effective messaging on business objectives or priorities to a broad and diverse audience
  • Highly collaborative team player with a roll-up-one’s-sleeves attitude, and innate sense of proactivity
  • Detail-oriented, diligent, and organized
  • Familiar with employment-related laws and regulations
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with an HRIS like BambooHR or Rippling or ATS like Breezy
  • Familiarity with or passion for recruiting
  • Previous experience at a startup or tech company
